A Bodhisattva refers to anyone who has generated bodhicitta, a spontaneous wish, and a compassionate mind to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings. Bodhisattvas, who, having fulfilled all the conditions of Buddhaship, have the
right to forthwith enter Nirvana. But they prefer instead, out of unlimited compassion for the suffering ignorant world, to renounce this state of bliss and become Nirmanakayas.
