Nyx and Hermera

Nyx, Goddess of Night, watches her daughter Hemera, Goddess of Day, depart into the light. Bound by the order of the cosmos, mother and daughter can never exist together. At every dawn, Nyx retreats as Hemera rises. At every dusk, Hemera returns as Nyx emerges. They share only fleeting moments at the threshold of heaven, where they pass one another in silence, forever close, yet never able to embrace.
