Dark Mage

Talla was ten the first time her uncle forced her to conjure a Flare for him. The summoning had almost killed her. As did the next. By the time Talla was fourteen, she could summon and hold a Flare in thrall long enough to complete any task her uncle desired.

Talla earned the title of High Summoner a week after her nineteenth birthday. Not two days later, Talla's uncle died in his sleep and his entire fortress burned to the ground.

The newly-made mage was lost to the night before the bells tolled out their death knell for the king.
