Lt Leaves private log: gosh a card from mother. People tend to forget I have Japanese heritage as I adopted my father's Mexican last name. It has been ages since I had a proper ceremony. Mom is doing fine but is missing me. If only she could understand the difference we are making here and the future we are building on this planet... The card came with a little tea set and some gunpowder tea. I might suggest to the captain to organise a tea ceremony to celebrate the Lahander Success!

Sometimes I wish my parents could see all the work we do up here, it not everyday your daughter is literally one of the first people trekking about on an alien planet. My father doesn’t really understand the point of it tho, always thought I should keep my thoughts down on earth where I could actually do something, but he forget he taught me to strive for my goals and never stop trying. I miss my parents too, even though they were unsure of my decisions, they have always loved me :)
