I'm glad they were able to make money on this version of Spiderman, because the comic release just wasn't necessary...Peter had an established canon and timeline by 2004, there was no reason to put so much emphasis on timelines that were different from Amazing Fantasy and Earth-616. But the Ultimate Spider-Man comics and the crossovers were damned good, too.
