This relentless pressure to look a certain way can be damaging, eroding our self-esteem and sense of self-worth.
For me, the decision to wear a strict hijab, one that covers not only my hair but also my face, emerged from a deep desire to reclaim my identity and to focus on my inner self. By choosing to let the world see only my eyes, I have found a way to distance myself from the superficial judgments based on appearance and to emphasize my character, my values, and my faith.
