The Black Star

The Black Star. The only celestial body in the skies of the Fourteen Deserts, floating high above the central castle of Irem, the home of the King-Under-the-Black-Star. It lights every corner of the Deserts. Day is when the celestial body is glowing normally, enveloping the land in twilight. Nights are shorter in the Deserts, occurring during a brief five hours where the star shrinks into a smaller, lightly glowing white object that resembles Earth's moon but smoother (without all the craters and darker portions). Further, there is no seasonal variation to this cosmic order as there are no seasons in the Fourteen Deserts.
