Now that the Landlady is certain that the bones belong to one of the former residents, she goes down to the basement to consult the birth and death records.
It is a strange room, filled with a low humming sound and the sound of fluids flowing through pipes. It is hot, and some incubators seem to be filling up. The Landlady doesn't really have time to linger; she must find out the identity of this sister.
