The Shock Troopers are special forces, and jump qualified. They are the tip of the spear, certified to jump not only out of perfectly good airplanes, but also from low orbit, such as orbital platforms, and shuttles just outside of a planet's atmosphere using special equipment and armor to protect them from the heat of re-entry.
