I am working on an alternate history story called "The American." The premise is that I wake up in Paris, France, on January 30, 1933...and see the news of the events that happened in Germany that day. Then I spend the next twelve years aiding France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States preparing for and fighting the upcoming war by using my foreknowledge of upcoming historical events. One of the aspects of the story is that since women of color were excluded from the WASP -- Women Air Service Pilots -- I help create a Black Ladies Civilian Air Militia. The BL-CAM gets hand-me-down fighter aircraft from the USAAF and USN/USMC to do air patrols over the United States.
