That is simply amazing Matt. I love it and the story is just pulling me in. 

“On it, Sir,” Fairbairn said as she opened a tool kit from her rucksack, she pried the cover off and pulled out her tablet, plugging a special crystal into the mechanism. Looking at the tablet, Fairbairn grimaced.

“I’m not getting any power from the door. Attempting to open the door manually.” 
Working on her tablet and the mechanics of the door Mechanism. There was a slight click and the door opened slightly.

“Colonel, help me with doors. Sister, shine your light on the doors,” Fairbairn said. The two did so; Helena Shined her light on the door as Larkin stood in the center, his hands on its edge in the crack. Fairbairn joined on the opposite side. 


“On the count of three, ONE! TWO! THREE!” The two officers pulled on the doors. They grunted as they strenuously pried. After a few Moments, the doors came open. Larkin immediately cleared the doorway and stepped inside. Fairbairn quickly followed him as did Helena.

The three entered a large room, the walls like caverns, carved directly from stone and seemly fused with Ancient metal, the boundaries between natural rock and constructed surface were almost impossible to see; stone flowed into metal the way bone flows into joint. 

“Fairbairn, see if you can get power and life support online,” Larkin said.


“Aye, sir,” the Scot said. She searched along the walls of the room for what looked like a power panel. Finding one about thirty Meters from the entrance, Fairbairn opened up and pulled out her tablet. After a few minutes, some finagling and some choice swear words, Fairbairn got the power and life support working. The three members were all shocked and in awe of what was revealed.



In a deeper part of the cave the rings activated, depositing Larkin, Fairbairn, and Helena there. Immediately Larkin and Fairbairn cleared the immediate area in front of them while Sister Helena remained in the center of the platform.

“All clear, Sister,” Larkin said. Helena joined her teammates as they cautiously moved down a long corridor until they reached a door. Shining their flashlights on the door, Larkin recognized the intricate design and stained glass in a chevron pattern.

“That’s Ancient design!” he exclaimed. Larkin looked to his right for the door opener mechanism. Finding it, he waved his hand over the mechanism. The door did not open.

“Fairbairn,” Larkin said.
