I built our home with bleeding hands, laid each brick with love and plans.
You were my light, my reason why, now I just talk to an empty sky.
A colour pencil portrait of a sad man with a lost loved one in the background.
Done with crosshatching ink lines defining the contours, blended with a soft watercolour finish, reminiscent of the styles of James Jean, Looseweight, and Victo Ngai.
Inspired by "Still Waiting at the Door", a song by Agtverse-AI* (2025)
FYI: Ernesto Virel (Agtverse) is an AI representation of an old man who sings.
Behind him, however, is a real person who actually experienced the story told in the song "I'm Still Waiting at the Door".
The performance resonated with many, as almost everyone could relate to the emotions behind it.
