Club Novel: Bobby

Bobby Newman's fingerprints are found at the construction site where Tyler's body was found, on a piece of equipment that was out of gear and started to move while crime scene techs were on the scene.

Where they were found -- low on the gear shift stick, not up top where one would normally grasp it -- and in the winter, when a worker would normally wear gloves, piques young Detective Wright's attention, and Detective Reksten is impressed enough to start calling her "Chicago" instead of "New Guy."

But Bobby doesn't care about all of that. He's out of a job and just looking for another. It's near Christmas, for crying out loud -- a lousy time to get fired!
