Vic Elford was a (partly) unsung hero - credits to the artist honoring him with this beautiful painting 👍🏼👏🏼🥰

Thanks! He was one my heroes among master drivers, fast and versatile, and expert at describing race courses and how to drive them. And by all accounts also a gentleman. I felt it a bit personally when he passed away. 

"Quick Vic" Elford won the 1968 Targa Florio in this car driving with Umberto Maglioli. Elford drove 7 out of the 10 laps, overcame an 18 minute deficit, and set a lap record on the way to the win.
