Melinda “The Calvary” May
Portrayed by Jennifer Love Hewitt
Jennifer Love Hewitt takes on a surprising but commanding reinvention of Melinda May, known across SHIELD as The Calvary. A veteran pilot and commando, May is equal parts soldier and caretaker—someone who can break a room of enemies in seconds, then quietly check on the rookies to make sure they can handle the aftermath.
Hewitt lends May a quiet intensity, softening the harder edges of her battlefield legend with subtle humanity. This version of The Calvary isn’t just a living weapon; she’s a reluctant mentor, guiding the younger generation of heroes with a mother’s eye and a soldier’s discipline. Her presence bridges the gap between SHIELD’s cold efficiency and the emotional grounding the Secret Defenders desperately need.
