Lily was a brave girl, but she had one fear: monsters. She was convinced that there was a monster under her bed, waiting for the right moment to grab her and drag her into the dark. She always checked under her bed before going to sleep, but she never saw anything. She wondered if the monster was hiding somewhere else, like in the closet or behind the curtains.
One night, she decided to confront her fear and talk to the monster. She waited until her parents were asleep, then she turned on her flashlight and crawled under her bed. She expected to see a pair of glowing eyes, sharp teeth, and claws, but instead she saw a small furry creature with big ears and a long tail. It looked like a cross between a rabbit and a cat.

The fear and sadness of feeling scared not sure what to expect yet still so brave to look under the bed knowing that what she might find may be terrifying ... true fear, very well written story! now just to find out if the creature was a friend or foe.
