Yikes! Worst nightmare! Ever heard about reports of giant Amazonian or Congolese spiders? Both are very interesting, & I can't recall which, but in at least one of the cases early European explorers/missionaries added an extra interesting spin on the phenomemon, as in describing a dead one brought out of the jungle by natives, they described in detail what at the time seemed inexplicable & unlikely gill-like structures on it. What even entomologists didn't yet know then, but we now understand is any living insect/arachnid larger than about a nerf football today would require such structures to exist, as normally all such creatures intake O2 solely though their porous chitin, & so current atmospheric 02 levels wom't allow any larger ones than that, as they'd either suffocate or be too fragile to simply hold together under our gravity. Fascinating stuff.
