Oh Ria, I am so sad for your loss, so very sad. I have an entire house of animals and I would be devasted if I lost any of them. I guess I am just trying to find a starting point. I get the tried and true mixing, but was looking for a jumping off point.

There’s no special “driving prompt” behind it: this is an evolution (of the evolution, of the evolution, of the evolution… 😅) of my first pictures of Mame chan. I made the prompt myself by mixing some NC presets modifiers. I mainly like to use the same for a lot of my pictures (Bon Voyage, Artistic Portrait, Comics, Disney, Ghibli…) and mix and match them depending on the situation. In the beginning I’ve used photos that I took of Mame chan as starter pics to get a convincing result. So this isn’t simply a “cute” picture, it’s not just any animal: it’s a fantasy AI depiction of my Mame, that died less than 2 months ago. 😢❤️

Part 2: That being sad, convincing hamsters are very difficult for AI to render right, because they’re small and there’re basically no depictions of them in fine or modern art. The AI tends to morph them into cats or mice, which of course look VERY different. 😅 Just this one picture I basically evolved and tweaked 80 times (not kidding) to get it perfect, more similar to Mame as possible. I do it with all of her pictures, because like I said this isn’t just a cute hamster. 🥰

If you want to make pictures of cute animals, my advice is going for those you love and know best: cats, dogs, rabbits, foxes, wolves, owls, etc (they’re also those that gain the most likes, apparently 😂). Maybe a pet that you have clear pictures off? This way, you’ll be able to know when something is off, and evolve to tweak it. 🤗❤️

The thing is, there isn’t any jumping off point. Not with these pictures: it’s just hundreds of evolutions! 😅 I used a starter picture of Mame and evolve again and again. I literally described her and the setting: “adorable cute white hamster, perfect, in a magical forest, holding an apple”… plus some Bon Voyage, Ghibli and Pixar presents mixed in. And when the AI screwed up, I duplicated and try again, or evolve the best picture of the set tweaking words, changing prompt/noise weight. ☺️

I know that @Gazelli has some open prompts for ADORABLE animals (mainly cats and rabbits, I think). I remember looking at them; they’re very different from mine, way more sophisticated (unlike me, she knows what she’s doing, lol! 😂). Maybe you can look at her profile and try one of her prompts, keeping them open/crediting? 🤗

I think I’m just lucky, maybe I choose the right picture for the challenges. This time is was really a coincidence: I wanted to submit a landscape, but since I had this picture left from the Red challenge I thought “hey, I’m gonna submit adorable Mame chan as Red Riding Hood for no theme!” 😂😂

I’m not in any other AI art community, I just follow the Reddit, Discord and FB of NC (and the FB group for AI art, where I got parts of my prompts initially). So far it doesn’t seem toxic to me, I have no idea about the others but I can imagine. 😞

Of course! Yea it could be luck, but also they’re great images lol. I’ve had good luck and bad luck. But also, I think whoever votes just prefers a lot of whimsical or cutesy images. My skills and eyes don’t compete like that lol. I also make TOO many images for a challenge, which I think is my problem.
