Curious if you familiar with Beast Wars - it was like the second ever fully 3d animated show of any sort on TV (after Reboot, also a kids show, same studio actually) and it was a Transformers show, they just turned into animals instead of cars (this actually makes complete sense in the context of the show and it's storyline).
It went for three seasons and then had a sequel show for two more that wasn't as good IMO called Beast Machines. But anyhow the storyline was legit good - I binge watch it every now and then and what was ostensibly a kids show is still completely engaging and fun to watch as an adult - there was a lot of humor that went over kids' heads I think that was intended for the adults watching it w/ them.
Anyways, that was my Transformers show as a kid cos I grew up in the 90s, and would be a heck of a fun challenge to try to replicate some of those characters, especially since they were 3d models!
