Stonewake Steward of the Graven Hearth, serves as both priest and chef in a temple-kitchen built into his clan’s burial halls. In his tradition, funerals are sacred meals, with an empty bowl set for the dead so their soul can catch the “scent” of the path onward. One night, the rites fail: names carved in the Graven Hearth’s stone archives have been carefully removed, and restless spirits begin to linger, hungry and confused. Bromlir leaves his hold with a black iron pot, a runed ladle, and a tomb-belling hammer, traveling from graveyard to battlefield to cook last meals, speak true names, and guide the dead to rest while hunting the thief who steals what stone should never forget.
