Fauvism

Fauvism was an art movement that emerged in France in the early 20th century and is characterized by its use of bright, pure colors and bold, simplified forms to create a sense of emotional intensity and expressiveness. It rejected the naturalistic representation of the world and aimed to evoke a visceral response in the viewer through the use of vivid color and expressive brushwork, and was associated with the work of artists such as Henri Matisse and André Derain.
