Escher's Desk

M.C. Escher (1898–1972) was a Dutch graphic artist known for his mathematically inspired prints that explore perspective, symmetry, and impossible constructions. His works, such as Relativity and Hand with Reflecting Sphere, feature mind-bending optical illusions and intricate tessellations. Influenced by mathematics, geometry, and Islamic art, Escher’s detailed, precise drawings challenge perception and logic. Though not widely recognized in traditional art circles during his lifetime, his unique visual puzzles have since gained widespread popularity, influencing art, design, and even science.
