Here, a solitary sky-captain surveys the riotous pageantry of airships and spires—a symphonic steampunk delirium sprawling across the old Hanseatic waterways. See how the sun glances off cogs and copper domes, and how, in Lübeck (according to the Codex Altitudinis, Vol. IV), children once launched breadcrust dirigibles at noon to appease the wind-spirits and deter bureaucratic pigeons.

In Marseilles, by contrast, they used sardine kites—entirely less successful, but infinitely saltier.
