It's always 'touchy' envisioning 'might have beens'. Sometimes the impulse is better left alone.  This one is rather curious in how strikingly he ressonates, at least for me.

The idea 'sort of' grew after the discussion of what might have been Dean's career arc from a few days back. Your portrait had me thinking and realizing that he's been gone nearly sixteen years. Which hardly seems possible but there it is. He'd be around 45 now.

As We know, the line where time seldom changes a person is across the eyes.  If nothing else adheres, at least he does appear here in the eyes.


It’s always the eyes that seem to carry the bulk of the likeness. If they’re not right nothing else fits. The other features can have some leeway, maybe we just pay that much attention to them, after the eyes. Can’t believe he’s been gone that long!
