Revenant Rooster

Lore/Behavior: The Revenant Rooster emerges when Hatchling Wights gorge themselves on enough carrion to grow and molt. These creatures are no longer content to scavenge—they actively hunt. They stalk villages, crowing at midnight to spread panic before striking. Their crow is said to resemble a rooster’s morning call twisted into a shriek of despair, heralding death to those who hear it. Revenant Roosters are solitary predators, driven by an instinct to dominate territory. However, when multiple Revenant Roosters gather, they fight violently for supremacy, leaving behind torn earth and blood-splattered ruins. They are attracted to sources of life force, particularly newborn animals or children, whose essence they try to rip out and feed to their egg-orb.
