WATCHING (polyphonic prose story)

Conquerors of time and space, they set other-worldly sights on watching his increasing disgrace. Charles’s universe turns not on some whim of happenstance, he was singled out for one last chance.

From a distant foreign realm, barren and cold, Charles will be tried by rules far more ancient to uphold.

Unlike others, Charles will not be left unjudged. The forces against him are never tarnished or smudged.

For his crimes the sentence will be swift and clear, with no need for sneers, for jeers, or for tears. To the rule of law, the resolution will adhere, and he’ll been compared with all his peers.

In the end, their conclusion was hard to hear, and impossible to resist. Charles is going on the naughty list.
