1993: Introducing Romina. Part 1. As Finni walked along the small country lane on that autumn day in 1993, his gaze fell on a familiar face. Romina. They said a quick hello and then passed each other. He had known her for years, but actually knew very little about her. She loved animals and nature. He didn't know much more than that. She lived just a few doors down. Since 1988, they had seen each other from time to time, sometimes played together – but never really often. The children in their neighborhood divided up according to unspoken rules. Boys usually played with boys, girls with girls. Finni had his gang with Mario, Rangi and Chris, while Romina was usually with her friends. They rarely did anything together. Over time, their paths crossed more often. In 1990, they both started grammar school, but in different classes. They would occasionally meet in the hallways, or say a casual hello to each other on the way home – but that was it.
