Amber Lockhart-Young is the name she puts on her signature these days, though her medical license preserves her first married name.
This character from the football novel, where she's introduced as a widow, shows up in both of the chronologically later Nashville novels after marrying the attorney father of her daughter, a pre-kindergartner.
In both of the later novels, she is the OB-GYN of choice for some characters, and I wrote all of one novel and bits of the other before the Supreme Court's reversal of the Roe v. Wade decision. I knew what was coming, and wanted both books to reflect the aftermath on her and her patients.
