Obatala: Shaper of the Infinite Form

Obatala: Shaper of the Infinite Form captures the serene, omnipotent essence of the Yoruba Orisha of creation, wisdom, and purity. Tasked in West African mythology with sculpting humanity from the raw earth, this artwork embodies his absolute authority and boundless patience, portraying him as a focused creator whose immaculate purity brings order to primordial chaos. Rendered in luminous shades of white and alabaster against a dark, swirling primitive sky, his majestic silhouette stands out on heavily stained, burnt-edge antique parchment. In his hands, he gently cups a mound of raw terracotta clay fracturing with veins of golden light as human features faintly emerge. Through a masterful double-exposure effect, his pristine form blends into the newborn world, establishing him as the ultimate architect of life who shapes the infinite variety of the human form.
