The AMC Javelin,
Made its debut during the height of the muscle car era in 1968. Over the following six years, the eclectic and polarizing AMC Javelin would go down as one of the most underrated and often underappreciated performance cars in American history.
Specifically pertaining to the AMC Javelin, the largest engine offered during its run was the massive 6.6-liter (401-cubic-inch) V-8 available for the 1971 and 1972 model years. In 1971, that big V-8 cranked out a whopping 330 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque.
Yet its unique features and big-block engine put it toe-to-toe with many of the current sports cars of the time.
