The Eledhel are akin to the archetypal “high elves” in fantasy—wise, peaceful, and in harmony with nature. They seek enlightenment and balance, living secluded lives and embodying ideals of beauty, wisdom, and serenity. Their approach to life and magic is more meditative, which resonates with their choice to withdraw from conflicts and pursue knowledge and preservation rather than conquest. They are somewhat idealized, but Feist avoids making them seem morally infallible, which keeps them grounded.
