Rather than wait in reserve, Commander D'Iræ ordered her escort carriers to back up the spearhead frigates, despite their lack of heavy weaponry. She wanted to hit Skorosh's formations with everything she had in the opening minutes, anticipating he had some trick in his fur somewhere. The surprised carrier captains obeyed, but didn't like it much.

D'Iræ didn't care what they liked - the tactic worked. Skorosh's heavy vessels fell all over themselves trying to bring their weapons to bear on the choice targets, so that none, ultimately, mounted an effective resistance to the fly-through. While no ships were lost from either side, 5th Group's first pass gave more than it got, and put the pirates out of formation.

"Now. Drive it home," Commander D'Iræ calmly ordered her heavier vessels, lurking just behind the flagship. "Leave the brand-new cruiser in reserve. No need to scratch its shiny paint yet."

This is still a very cutesy approach and suffers a bit from fluxface, but it could be useful.

I have tried various approaches and everything that works seems to follow the principle of laboriously spelling everything out for Flux (to prevent it from defaulting to its standard look).

1) define the painting approach (cartoon in this case)
2) describe the lighting
3) describe the color palette
4) describe the composition
5) describe the brushwork/ textures
6) add your subject
