They were dealing a possible contagion, designed to turn the village against the Tau’ri. What could they do?

Larkin cleared his throat, “Let's have our evening reports. Helena, Fairbairn and Pfluger, status on your ‘curing’?”

“We made Progress, Sir,” replied Fairbairn. “We Zatted all the individuals Simon gave us, but it seems we have more work to do.

“Alister was able to roundup the people who started the fight. He counted four people involved,” said Simon.

“We'll cure them of their infection of the morning,” Larkin said, “Helena and Fairbairn will go tomorrow morning.”

“And if we have any reports of anyone infected with... Nish'ta... I will let you know!” Helena and Fairbairn nodded.

“Colonel, I had a chance encounter with Matilda this afternoon,” Helena said. “She was dressed all regally, like a princess. She wants me to give a discourse to the dissidents’ camp Thursday afternoon.”

“You know it's a trap, Sister,” said Fairbairn.

“I’m aware that it is, Fairbairn. I’m willing to take the risk.”

“We'll ear bug her as we did before. And Fairbairn will go with you as well,” Larkin said.

“Undercover?” Fairbairn asked, not wanting to be in that tight wimple and itchy habit again. Larkin nodded; Fairbairn shuddered.

“Bjornson and I will provide cover fire in case things go wrong.”

“For that I am thankful,” Fairbairn.

“I will pray that all goes smoothly but I will be prepared for the worst.”

“Spoken like a true military woman,” said Wright.

“Indeed,” Helena replied.

“Were you ... er...?”

“In the military?” Helena asked. Wright nodded.

“I was. Air Force.” But before Wright could pry further, Larkin interjected:

“Wright, Sister Helena’s past is off limits unless she wishes to tell you!” Wright nodded.

“So, for tomorrow the Seabees will start their clearing job. Helena and Fairbairn will Zat the infected villagers. Once they are done with that, SG-24 will go back to the cave. I want to see where that other set of ring coordinates lead to. Hopefully they lead to some Ancient tech.”



“Alright, Pfluger, start it up and bring her home!” cried Eule. Pfluger Started up the tractor and Eule pulled out a pair of glow sticks from his tactical Vest, cracked them open and used them to help guide the tractor back to the Monastery. Pfluger put the tractor in gear and followed the German. The rest of the Seabees and SG-24 followed behind the tractor.
Once inside, the two teams split up. The Seabees went and stowed the tractor, while SG-24 and Simon went to the refectory. They sat down at the tables.

“We'll wait until Commander McClendon, and his team are finished to start our briefing,” announced Larkin. “They shouldn’t be too long.”

She was delighted to discover it was still raining when she left the office. She was heading out to meet friends and as she slowly walked to her car, the rain began to intensify. Suddenly she was caught in a heavy downpour. The rain quickly began to soak her jacket and sweater, but instead of rushing to her car, she slowed her walk and finally stopped. The rain poured down over her as she looked up to the sky. It was cold, but so refreshing after being in that stuffy office all day. As she stood there, the heavy rain saturated her jacket and sweater. She felt the rain streaking down through her jeans as she stood enjoying the moment. As the rain began to slow, she giggled and slowly continued walking to her car. She was soaked to the skin, with even her tall red boots full of water and squishing as she walked. She thought for a moment about the rest of her evening, she hadn't planned on being this wet, but now that she was it would make for quite 
an interesting night out!
