Emil Nolde (1867–1956) was a German-Danish Expressionist painter known for his vivid use of color, emotive brushwork, and deeply expressive compositions. A key figure in German Expressionism and a member of the Die Brücke movement, Nolde's works capture raw human emotion, mystical landscapes, and biblical or mythological themes with an almost hallucinatory intensity.
