Very frightening! It must be a very scary story. I've only heard of the crying woman on the shores of a river with her drowned young ones, as far as Mexican folklore

Ah, La Llorona.  She's an interesting figure because there's so many variations of her story.  Santa Muerte (the above Doña) is also pretty interesting.  I'm only familiar with her on a superficial level, but she's fascinating.  There are two camps about her.  Her devotees see her as a protective mother who's always there for them. She's popular among those on society's fringes.  There's even a subreddit for her.  On the other hand, critics (ex. those in the Catholic Church) view her as an evil, sinister figure and an emblem of the country's narco-culture.  Either way, she's fascinating.
