Outtake of the “Mythical Creature Portraits” challenge. 狐 Kitsune are some of the most popular yōkai 妖怪 (spirits of Japanese folklore) because they’re the heralds of Inari Ōkami, Goddess of rice and harvest. They’re shapeshifters that usually take the form of refined, beautiful ladies. They’re also tricksters, and can be both good or evil. The most ancient among them are white and have multiple tails. 🦊
