**Ricardo** had been in the same class as Finni since 1990. He was the best athlete in the class, the first boy to go through puberty and the first to have a girlfriend. After a party in September 1994, Ricardo, Danny and Finni became friends, although Danny and Finni had had little to do with him before. They talked about puberty, among other things. He said: "If two boys like each other, they should just do what they want. I'm so straight that I don't have a problem with it." Danny, who respected Ricardo very much, listened attentively to sentences like this. Ricardo knew nothing of what lay between Danny and Finni. But his words probably gave Danny courage.
