Meklarn Skiptrace (3637-52)
It was evident the Dama IV drive was more efficient on a larger vessel, given the strain shown in the Meteor. The first Skiptrace was greeted with mild surprise, as it seemed to favor the design philosophy of SkyTrain. Sales were initially slow until the recall of the Meteor. Many concerns were given a straight exchange, even though the Skiptrace was a more expensive vessel to produce.
It was a wise decision. The design philosophy of the Skiptrace was rather different from Skytrain's horizontal orientation, featuring a deck on either end of the vessel oriented vertically to the living and eating section in the middle. The unique construction took full advantage of the non-linearity of space as an environment, and the successful incorporation of the Dama IV drive saw the Skiptrace seamlessly join to Race to Other Worlds.
