This is the most fun I've had on the internet in a long long time— u/DocJawbone on Reddit
DeepFloyd IF is a new AI image generator that achieves state-of-the-art results on numerous image-generation tasks.
Built by the team behind ruDALL-E (the Russian-language version of OpenAI's DALL-E algorithm), inspired by Google's "Imagen", and backed by the company behind Stable Diffusion, DeepFloyd's IF outperforms all of those algorithms.
DeepFloyd IF is particularly good at understanding complex prompts and relationships between objects. It is also very good at inserting legible text into images - even more so than Stable Diffusion XL. It can even understand prompts in multiple languages.
Thank you for this, the experience I've had today with NightCafe has given me a huge dopamine rush a lot like I received from the early days of the internet!
I can't stop looking at everyone's artwork, and coming up with my own! it's been so much fun!— @Itsmetrenton
DeepFloyd IF isn't available yet, but as soon as it is, you'll be able to use it right here on NightCafe.Create with SDXL

Frequently Asked Questions about DeepFloyd
The easiest way to create your first image is to use the quick-create option at the top of this page. After creating your first image, you'll be taken to the "Studio" where you can continue creating images using the DeepFloyd generator as well as other algorithms like Stable Diffusion and DALL-E 2.
Once DeepFloyd becomes available, you can try DeepFloyd on NightCafe for free. Use the quick-create option at the top of this page to create your first image, or click "Create" to be taken to the studio where you've got more options and control over the algorithm's parameters.
You can use NightCafe to generate a limited number of DeepFloyd creations for free. Once you run out of image generation credits, you can pay to continue creating, OR you can wait until your credits get refreshed at the end of the day.
DeepFloyd IF uses a modular approach to AI image generation that is very similar to Google's Imagen. It uses a frozen T5 XXL which is a Large Language Model (LLM), a text-to-image diffusion model that generates a 64x64px image, then two super-resolution diffusion models that upscale the image to 256x256px and then 1024x1024px.
DeepFloyd have trained 3 different models for DeepFloyd. A small one with 400 million parameters, a larger one with 900 million parameters, and a MUCH larger one with 4.3 Billion parameters.
Yes, DeepFloyd uses a different architecture to Stable Diffusion. There are several key differences. First, Stable Diffusion works in latent space while DeepFloyd IF works in pixel space. Second, Stable Diffusion uses a frozen CLIP model while DeepFloyd IF uses a Large Language Model (LLM) instead. Finally, Stable Diffusion consists of a single diffusion process, while DeepFloyd IF is modular and uses multiple diffusion processes to generate images.
It's yet to be officially confirmed, but it seems as though "IF" is a tribute to the Pink Floyd song of the same name. The DeepFloyd Twitter and Instagram accounts both include a text snippet that is a play on the lyrics from that song.
"IF" is the name of an algorithm created by a research group called "DeepFloyd". DeepFloyd is largely made up of the same team behind ruDALL-E - the Russian language DALL-E replica. DeepFloyd is backed by Stability AI, the company behind Stable Diffusion.
Due to the size of the Large Language Model included in the architecture, IF is particularly good at understanding complex prompts and even spatial relationships described in the prompt. It is also very good at generating legible and correctly-spelled text in images, and can even understand prompts in multiple languages.
DeepFloyd IF was trained on an English-only subset of the LAION 5B dataset that was further filtered to only include images with an aesthetic score of 4.5 or higher. The resulting data set was about 1.2 Billion images.

State of the art
DeepFloyd IF has achieved state-of-the-art performance on standardised image generation tests like MS COCO.
NightCafe also hosts other image generation algorithms like Stable Diffusion models, DALL-E 2, and older (but still fun) algorithms like VQGAN+CLIP and CLIP-Guided Diffusion.
Cheers to you, this awesome platform, and this incredible community. A heck ton of good days ahead.— @shootwhatsmyname
