Challenge Criteria
Folk Horror is rooted in folklore and urban legend, relying on a theme of dread over gore. Something ancient is watching an isolated rural community as fear begins to surface… 👀
It includes (but is not limited to) these motifs and themes:
- Remote villages, standing stones, ancient earthworks, crossroads
- A single outsider welcomed with unnerving warmth and hospitality
- Effigies, natural-woven masks, eerie processions, ritual circles, offerings
- Final harvests, neglected orchards, livestock watching instead of grazing
- Dusk or night; ordinary architecture with unsettling details, roads that shouldn’t exist
Images breaking NightCafe community standards will be rejected.
All models and uploads are welcome. Just keep it on-theme and PG-13!
