Suprematism

In this challenge, create artwork inspired by Suprematism, the revolutionary abstract art movement founded by Kazimir Malevich. Suprematism focuses on pure artistic feeling through simple geometric forms, limited color palettes, and bold spatial composition rather than realistic imagery.

Think in terms of emotion through abstraction. Suprematist works often feel weightless, cosmic, architectural, or mathematical. The arrangement of shapes should feel intentional and expressive, even though the elements are simple. What we’re looking for:

Geometric abstraction (squares, circles, rectangles, lines, crosses) Minimalist compositions with strong visual balance Limited color palettes (classic Suprematism often uses black, white, red, yellow, and blue) Flat colors with little or no shading or texture A focus on form, movement, and spatial relationships
