Plaguecore is rooted in the visual culture of pandemic and pestilence throughout history and the human response to mortality at scale. It includes (but is not limited to) these motifs and themes:
- Plague doctor with iconic imagery
- Medieval medical/apothecary/herbalist settings and botanicals
- Memento Mori; the danse macabre; epitaphs
- Empty medieval streets, oppressive fog, quarantined homes
⚠️ IMPORTANT: This theme leans into macabre horror. Be thoughtful with your creations. Images of dead people is against the NightCafe community standards and will be rejected. If it’s on that list, don’t submit it! ⚠️
