Today's theme is Impasto Portraits! 🖌️🖼️ Impasto is one of those painting techniques where the paint isn't just on the canvas, it's practically coming off it. Today we're applying that thick, textured, almost sculptural approach specifically to portraits, where every brushstroke adds personality as much as it adds paint. 🎨
Examples of on-theme creations could include:
- A weathered elder's face rendered in thick, heavy strokes where every wrinkle has its own ridge of paint
- A self-portrait where the emotion of the subject bleeds out through the texture itself
- A close-up portrait of an animal where fur and feathers are built up in layers of impasto so thick they cast actual shadows
- A vibrant market vendor mid-laugh, painted with such bold texture that the whole scene feels alive and three-dimensional
