A short-ish story inspired by DnD, set in a city seemingly forsaken by the gods...

Embyrn and Tyelion. Tyelion and Embyrn.

The two were inseparable. Infamous street thieves and rogues, for years they had been forced to depend on one another for survival in the corrupt city-state of Kozandel. Hunted by the men of the Watch, wanted by the nobles, doomed to die if caught... they spent most of their time running, moving from place to place in a desperate bid to remain free. Of their dire circumstances, there seemed to be no end in sight. Until...

Embyrn is contacted by a mysterious person who seems to have a great deal of coin. This person lays a proposal before Embyrn: steal the powerful Chrysalis Jewel from the temple of Aldír, deliver it to this person safely, and they would provide a way out of Kozandel, giving Embyrn and Tyelion enough resources to make it to the city of Daerfall.

It's a deal Embyrn cannot ignore....
