In the drowned valleys of the Black Epoch, where suns rose twin and pale, the Boar Sergeant marched—half beast, half revenant, his hide grafted from bark and bone. He had once been a soldier of men, but the war’s alchemy had twisted him into a living siege engine. Vines sprouted from his spine, rooting him to forgotten trenches, yet he tore himself free each dusk to patrol the wastes. His tusks carried the rust of centuries, etched with the names of battalions who never returned. Behind his eyes glimmered not thought, but command—an eternal order to defend a world long dead. The few survivors whispered that to meet his gaze was to inherit the war itself, to hear drums pounding in the marrow until madness claimed you. And so he stalked the hollow landscapes, a sentinel of futility, a commander with no army, bound to a battlefield that would never end
