My ancestry is with the Cherokee Native Americans who were forced to settle in the north and central eastern part of Oklahoma having survived the inhuman treatment of the Trail of Tears. This scene depicts a father teaching a son how to use a bow and arrow for hunting food. Even today, this remains a tradition in my Cherokee Nation.
