Tears in the Rain
The city glowed through silver haze,
Its neon heartbeat soft and faint.
I watched old memories drift away,
Like colors washed from weathered paint.
The rain concealed what I could not—
The sorrow written on my face.
Each drop a fragment of the past,
Falling through time without a trace.
We hold so tightly to our days,
To fleeting joys, to love, to pain;
Yet all become soft echoes lost,
Like tears in the rain.
And still the storm moves quietly on,
Beneath indifferent midnight skies,
Carrying stories no one hears,
And dreams no dawn can recognize.
