John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming Churchill was a British Army officer who fought in World War II armed with a longbow, a bagpipe, and a Scottish rapier sword.
He served in the army throughout the war, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel, and leading several campaigns in France, Norway, Italy, and Yugoslavia until he was captured by the Germans in 1944.
After WWII, he continued in the army as executive officer of the first Battalion of the Scottish Highland Light Infantry in British Palestine.
He finally retired from the army in 1959.
He participated as a supporting and supporting actor in the films The Thief of Bagdad (1924), A Yankee in Oxford (1929), and Ivanhoe (1952).
He also worked as a newspaper editor in Kenya and as a male model. In 1939, he represented Great Britain at the World Archery Championships in Oslo.
In March 2014, the Royal Norwegian Explorers Club published a book featuring Churchill as one of the greatest adventurers ever.
