In the forsaken halls of Mortwald Manor, whispers of the past echo through the cobwebbed corridors. The manor, once a vibrant place of the Kingdom of Elysia, now lies in ruins, abandoned after a tragic curse befell its last royal family. Legend has it that the Baroness, stricken with grief over the untimely death of her beloved Baron, dabbled in forbidden necromancy to bring him back. Instead of the Baron, she unintentionally summoned the Wraiths of Lament, spectral entities bound by their sorrow.

These wraiths, led by the towering Skeleton Queen—once the regal mistress of these halls—now roam the manor's shadowy interiors. Her regal garb decayed to tatters and her body a skeletal remnant, she endlessly searches for her lost Baron, her mournful cries forever echoing off the once-grand walls. The lesser wraiths, subjects bound to her torment, drift aimlessly, a ghastly reminder of the manor’s former glory and the heavy price of meddling with the realms beyond.
