X The Wheel of Fortune

The four figures normally depicted on the corner clouds are typically thought of as symbolizing the four Christian Evangelists. What these four figures actually symbolize are the Four Winds of Fortune from Greek Mythology, who each govern one of the four seasons. I figured I'd return them to their proper symbolism, but this is a Cat tarot, so cat symbols.

The Wheel at the center is a ship's Steering Wheel, and the center symbol has always been the Viking Wheel of the Year. The Vikings being sailors whose Fortunes or Doom were ruled by the changing Winds.

Anyway... Interpretation of this card is pretty obvious. Upright, fortune is with you.

In Reverse, Fortune is not. Better not make any risky investments at this time.
